Job Description

Due to our continued growth, Michigan Otolaryngology Surgery Associates (MOSA) is seeking a Part Time Speech Language Pathologist . MOSA is a private practice within the Trinity Health Ann Arbor system providing general ENT care, specialized laryngology and neurotology treatment, as well as audiology services. This position offers a unique opportunity to help grow a multidisciplinary laryngological clinic alongside a Vanderbilt-trained laryngologist in the beautiful surrounds of Southeast Michigan. Twenty minutes from vibrant downtown Detroit, the Ann Arbor area is consistently ranked as one of the country's most educated cities, with arts, culture, and sports to match. 

The ideal candidate should possess significant experience with clinical evaluation and treatment of voice, working closely with a laryngologist, upper airway, and various swallowing issues (general dysphagia and dysphagia associated with head and neck cancer treatment) and should be able to conduct and interpret instrumental evaluations (videostroboscopy, FEES and VFSS/MBS).

Position Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patient needs/problems, identify mutually agreed upon goals with patients for patient care plan
• Provide speech therapy services including assessment, evaluation, procedures, teaching, and training activities as outlined in the patient care plan
• Report patient status to Clinical Supervisor and referring Physician
• Aid in the continued growth of MOSA's voice and swallowing care offerings via patient outreach and participation in local and national professional meetings

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited masters program in Speech Pathology or Communicative Sciences and Disorders.
• Active Michigan State Speech Language License or eligibility for licensure.
• The ability to make sound professional clinical judgment
• The ability to assess and document patient needs and formulate individualized patient care plans to meet those needs
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Tech-savvy with the ability to learn quickly
• A continued commitment to cultural responsiveness

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP)
• Singing voice experience
• Experience treating gender affirming voice
• Experience in a multidisciplinary clinic setting
