About the Position:
The Bureau of Technology Services (BTS) is seeking an experienced Information Systems Technical Analyst IV to join the Public Safety Division – Desktop Support team. The Police Bureau is responsible for crime reduction and working collaboratively with its community members in the preservation of life, human rights, and property. The successful candidate will work with a diverse group of business users, supporting existing hardware and software, and assist in developing new solutions to address complex business needs. The candidate must be able to work independently and provide continued support, develop, and maintain computer systems. The candidate’s duties include installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting multiple operating systems, utilizing thorough knowledge and extensive experience supporting operating systems and system upgrades. This position requires a creative solution-oriented individual and must be adaptable to manage daily priority changes.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in customer service support setting while supporting a diverse set of law enforcement agency software and hardware. A willingness to share ideas and collaborate with a diverse set of professionals with a focus of providing excellent customer service is essential. Prior experience in Microsoft Systems Center is highly desirable.
The successful candidate must be able to pass a comprehensive police background investigation and be able to work in a culturally and gender diverse workplace.

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position: - Experience working independently to install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot multiple operating systems and complex technical issues, utilizing thorough knowledge and extensive experience supporting operating systems and system upgrades.
- Experience applying the methods and techniques used to install, troubleshoot, problem solve and maintain information systems hardware and software.
- Experience leading or coordinating projects of low complexity, risk, visibility, and impact. Examples include small projects such as application enhancements, new infrastructure installations, moves, telecommunications or service upgrade projects.
- Experience taking the initiative to go beyond pre-defined processes. Assessing / analyzing situations and looking for solutions; assessing what may be missing, typical sources of problems; resolving most issues.
- Experience applying network technology principles and concepts.
- Experience applying security principles and practices for computer information systems.
Applicants must also:

- A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record at time of hire.
