Department Details 20-bed unit serving adult patients with psychiatric illness-
- Patients are cared for by an interdisciplinary team consisting of the psychiatrist, nursing, social work, psychology, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation and behavioral health technicians and aides.
- Patients in this unit are treated with group therapy as well as individual therapy and assessments.
- This unit provides acute care for the patient and facilitates treatment ongoing in the community.
- This unit also includes a partial hospitalization program. The PHP is independent of Psych.

Responsibilities - Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage and various other nursing interventions
- Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up along the continuum of care
- Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing expertise
Qualifications Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
