Job Description

The Manager of Pharmacy will join a prestigious, non-profit hospital with over 400+ beds, recognized for providing exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive and innovative environment for healthcare professionals. The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the pharmacy department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services across all patient care areas. The Pharmacy Manager will have the responsibility of directly and indirectly supervising over 30+ employees, the Manager of Pharmacy will play a key role in managing staffing needs, including recruiting, interviewing, and supervising pharmacy personnel to meet patient care requirements. The Pharmacy Manager will ensure that all personnel comply with hospital policies related to HR and personnel management, including PEP, FMLA, ADA, EAP, and more.

The Manager of Pharmacy position will include coordinating and supervising pharmacy programs throughout the hospital addressing operational issues such as workflows, supply usage, and equipment utilization. The Pharmacy Manager will also be actively involved in the pharmacy operations, such as medication distribution, compounding, and administration, while collaborating with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and ensure patient safety.

In addition, the Manager of Pharmacy will have a critical role in managing the department’s budget, monitoring financial performance, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies. Working closely with the Director of Pharmacy, the Manager of Pharmacy will assist in balancing clinical effectiveness with fiscal responsibility and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including state and federal laws.

The Pharmacy Manager will provide leadership and guidance on the development of in-service training programs to enhance staff education, and foster a culture of professional growth and competency within the pharmacy team. The Pharmacy Manager will also serve on multidisciplinary committees, collaborate with hospital leadership, and work closely with physicians and healthcare providers to resolve problems and plan for the future of pharmacy services.
