Job Description

Construction Project Scheduler is responsible for maintaining a detailed project schedule by defining tasks, estimating resource requirements, creating timelines, tracking progress, identifying potential delays, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a construction project stays on schedule and within scope, utilizing P6. The Project Manager will create the schedule and manage the stakeholders. Key responsibilities:

• Schedule updates: Break down project scope into manageable tasks, estimate task durations, and establish dependencies between activities to create a comprehensive project schedule.
• Resource allocation: Identify required personnel, equipment, and materials for each task and allocate them accordingly within the schedule.
• Critical path analysis: Identify critical tasks that directly impact project completion and manage potential delays on those paths.
• Progress monitoring: Regularly track project progress against the schedule, identify variances, and analyze the reasons for deviations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure accurate schedule updates and alignment.

Required skills:

• Experience on Convention Center construction, TXDOT or other similar large scale projects
• Technical skills: Proficiency in project scheduling software like Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other industry-standard tools
• Analytical skills: Ability to analyze complex project data, identify trends, and forecast potential issues
• Communication skills: Effectively communicate schedule updates and concerns to stakeholders at all levels
• Problem-solving skills: Identify and address schedule challenges, proposing solutions to mitigate delays
• Organizational skills: Manage large volumes of data and maintain a detailed, organized project schedule

Required qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in construction project scheduling in P6
• Strong understanding of construction practices, sequencing, and dependencies
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
