508 Trusted Tester Victor 12 has an opportunity for three (3)
508 Trusted Testers to support the Veteran’s Benefits Administration (VBA) Training Analysis and Design Task Order in service of the VBA’s Training Management and Performance Improvement (TMPI) and Human Capital Service (HCS) business lines. This position is remote. This position is contingent upon the Task Order award.
Responsibilities: The
508 Trusted Testers will conduct reviews and remediation of program-related artifacts and deliverables, including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, Videos, Websites, learning modules/content materials, as well as a myriad of infrastructure systems, interfaces, and support applications to ensure all potential end users have accessibility to information and communication technologies.
Other 508 support efforts include conducting assessments of the company’s section 508 program and providing recommendations for improvements such as business process improvements and data analysis. The successful candidate will also support the creation/maintenance of internal 508 information repositories that provide guidance and updates for Victor 12 team members, content and application developers, and create associated standard operating procedures, templates, and documentation that align with the company’s 508 program and contractual requirements. The 508 Specialist will:
- Demonstrate proficiency in Section 508 review and remediation of documentation artifacts, to include electronic formats, applications, portals, interfaces, and digital media assets.
- Possess skills to identify errors in document structure, headings, reading order, images, charts and tables, and any other document accessibility issues.
- Use accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies (e.g. JAWS, ZoomText) as needed to ensure conformance and accuracy.
- Experience providing document accessibility training to users and groups.
- Design and develop document and file templates that adhere to accessibility guidelines.
- Track and log document and template changes and provide reports as requested.
- Create document accessibility reference guides and other instructional materials as needed.
Minimum Qualifications: - Ability to prove current DHS Trusted Tester Certification
- Bachelor's degree in a technology field or a field of study related to the assigned project(s) and four (4) years of relevant experience in projects of national scope, including VA initiatives, and in the Federal Government arena.
- Note: Foreign university transcripts must meet accreditation standards by one of two national associations of credential evaluation services designated by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the US Department of Education.
- National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
- Association of International Evaluators (AICE).
- Pass a background investigation, including FBI fingerprint check and provide “identity-proofed” identification through authentication of two forms of government-issued identification.
